Salsa means sauce or spice that refers to the mixture of music styles and rhythms. Salsa was born in the 1960s when Cuban and Puerto Rican immigrants had floated New York keeping their own culture and traditions.
The original salsa is fast, intense, rhythmically complex music. The two basic types are the Cuban and Puerto Rican.
